I’m often asked what makes Xero special. How do we stand out through our values, as a business and as a team? For me, it really comes down to our small business customers and their advisors, and the unique relationships that we’ve built with them.

Wherever we look, small businesses are the backbone of their communities. They are important contributors to job creation and economic development. They represent about 90% of all businesses and more than 50% of all employment worldwide.

Championing small businesses

At Xero, it is our ongoing mission to champion these heroic small businesses and their partners who have faced the challenges, uncertainty and volatility of the last two years in ways never before envisaged. So many have found new paths through creativity and innovation to become stronger, more resilient and competitive businesses. We are unbelievably proud to have been a part of that journey.

We sponsored a feature on an inspiring Singaporean eco-brand Luxe Botanics, who successfully pivoted their business in the middle of the pandemic to expand their market footprint and focus. However, as the skincare company’s sales volume grew, tracking incoming and outgoing payments became ever more time-consuming. Their co-founder, Rachel Chan, shared how Xero helped them streamline their operations, manage their financial administration and support their global expansion through multi-currency accounting and invoicing capabilities.

A small business that helps others succeed

Another example of an exceptional local small business, who additionally helps other SMEs succeed, is accounting firm Numbers Management. In addition to their core accounting services, tax and compliance work, they champion Xero software as a tool to make accounting even more efficient, turning them into a one-stop shop for client convenience. It’s founder, Adrian Choo, sees this marriage of cloud accounting and traditional accounting firms as future-proofing his business, and welcomes the time saved from manual data entry to focus on doing valuable work for clients.

We love a two-way conversation

There are so many brilliant and courageous business owners and customers that I have had the great privilege of speaking with over the years. They have called, reached out via LinkedIn and even stopped me on the street after recognising my Xero tee shirt, to share the impact Xero has had on their business. It is this critical feedback that has kept us going and growing over the past 15 years.

With this in mind, I’m very excited to share a campaign we’ve developed in Asia to celebrate our extraordinary small business customers and their partners, as well as the role Xero has played in their success. Our #LoveXero campaign kicks off today (14 February) – which is especially fitting with all the love around Valentine’s Day. We invite all Xero small business customers to take part in the competition. Tell us on Linkedin or Facebook why you love Xero with the hashtag #LoveXero, and the most unique and creative post will be rewarded. Everything you need to know is in this LinkedIn post.

For Xero partners, let us know by sharing a post on Facebook or LinkedIn with the hashtag #LoveXero why you love using Xero for your practice and clients, and you may be featured on our page and receive a special promo code from us. Find out more here.

Good luck and we look forward to seeing your social posts!
